Product Description GRAVE FORCES ARE converging to seize control of the Book of Thoth, a hidden artifact whose pages hold the key to creating—or unraveling—the very threads of existence. Under the care and tutelage of Cooper, Rowan’s most lethal Agent, Max McDaniels and David Menlo embark on a quest to protect the book from the demon Astaroth, who would exploit its secrets with dire consequence. And with Astaroth free after centuries of imprisonment, the world outside Rowan’s gates has already become hostile.
Far from home, cut off behind enemy lines, Max and his allies must journey across Europe, descend into the fabled Frankfurt Workshop, brave the tangled corners of the Black Forest . . . and cross beyond the veils of our very world.
From the Hardcover edition.

Great writing, but so many questions left hanging that I was confused January 3, 2009 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
THERE ARE MINOR PLOT SPOILERS, SO DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT ANY - The second book had a great plot and made for great reading, but I was left w/ a TON of questions. Why did the elf king (or whatever they're called in Ireland)pick Henry's mom? What happened while he was training in the castle? It went from "break him" to him knowing everything. Why did the demon bite off the hand - we know they were whispering, but what EXACTLY were they talking about? What happened w/ Henry blacked out while fighting the werewolves? What was the point of the ribbon he kept tying on the bitten off stump? why were his memories of the girl he liked taken away? There was no point in that.
Gripping,.... can't wait for the next book in the series December 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Okay, so I read the first book, The Hound of Rowan, and thought - yes, it's pretty good,... at least good enough to convince me to buy the second book, The Second Siege. So, when I got around to it, I read the Second Siege - we definitely went from "pretty good" to absolutely AWESOME!!!! The Second Siege is ten steps up. A great read that kept me turning page after page to find out what happens next. Now, I can hardly wait for the next book in the series.
Best Curl Up and Read Inside Book November 21, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Second Siege is the perfect book to curl up and read. It's funny, descriptive and exciting, running at a fast clip from where Book 1: Hound of Rowan ended. You learn more about mysterious Cooper and David and the complex personality of Astaroth and meet new characters that make you wonder if you should trust them. The illustrations really pop at you and draw you in - the fact that Neff is both the author and illustrator makes this creative fiction even more enticing. A must-read for any lover of magic, myth and adventure.
Great Sequel! October 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've just finished reading Book 2 of the Tapestry series, The Second Siege. What a fantastic sequel! Frankly, an even better book than the already wonderful first one, The Hound of Rowan. Not only is the writing better, but the characters are more interesting and developed, and the scenes and story lines are very exciting, filled with intense chases, close calls and epic battles. There is the obvious overarching good vs. evil theme but the heroes are played by characters that are not so unbelievable or "perfect" and who have their own problems and personal demons that they must contend with while at the same time having to deal with their roles and responsibilities in the grand theme of it all. Adults young and old will truly identify with the characters. Finally, the author does a great job of accentuating good qualities that all parents would appreciate such as character and integrity. Looking forward to Book 3! Kudos to the author!
Just awesome! October 29, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book was incredible! I am so happy to see the story take off the way it did. I know a lot of people felt that the first book was a bit of a Harry Potter clone. I can tell you that the author definitely has taken this story on it's own path. I really liked Hound of Rowan, but this book takes things to a whole new level. I love the characters, and the story is incredible. I can't wait for the next book.
