Product Description When Percy Jackson receives an urgent distress call from his friend Grover, he immediately prepares for battle. He knows he’ll need his powerful demigod allies, Annabeth and Thalia, at his side; his trusty bronze sword, Riptide; and . . . a ride from his mom. The demigods race to the rescue, to find that Grover has made an important discovery: two new powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown. But that’s not all that awaits them. The Titan lord, Kronos, has set up his most devious trap yet, and the young heroes have just fallen prey. Hilarious and action-packed, this third adventure in the series finds Percy faced with his most dangerous challenge so far: the chilling prophecy of the Titan’s curse.

Quick and interesting read, great condition January 9, 2009 If you are a fan of Greek mythology and do not feel 'above' reading children's literature, "The Titan's Curse - third book in the Percy Jackson series of 5 - is definitely worth reading. It is quick to read, and here on Amazon, all of the PJ books that are out so far are incredibly well-priced. Die-hard Harry Potter fans might be ticked off with the numerous parallels to J.K Rowling's series, but if you can get past that, you will like it.
If you have children, this can be a very good introduction to ancient Greek mythology. The mythology is 99% accurate, but at the same time, tied in with modern times quite skillfully. The story basically follows the life of a half-blood (half mortal and half god, due to the Greek gods frequent affairs with humans), Percy Jackson, in the modern world. The series describes Percy and his friend's continuous efforts to thwart the return of the evil leader of the Titans, Kronos, and prevent a second war between Olympians and Titans.
Love this series, can't wait for the 5th to come out this May.
Edge of seat read January 7, 2009 This just keeps me in the zone. Perseus is a keeper. I love how he and his sometimes reluctant team mates continue the fight to keep olympus up there.
The Titan's Curse January 6, 2009 this was purchased for my 11 year old granddaughter as a Christmas present. As she is reading the series she was delighted in receiving it as one of her books. I was pleased with the service, delivery time and price.
The Titan's Curse December 21, 2008 These books provide a fun and adventure-filled introduction to the old myths for younger (3rd-grade-ish) children. My son, who loves mythology, has enjoyed these books tremendously as I've read them to him. The books are fast-paced, clever, and vivid. They subtly highlight the broad grey area between good and evil and raise important questions about righteousness. *Note: they are VERY violent.
Great book even for reluctant readers! December 21, 2008 I am a fifth grade teacher and I have several boys that never want to read. When I read The Lightning Thief and then talked about it to my students, the boys were hooked! They have been reading this series like maniacs and now beg for silent reading time so they can figure out what Percy Jackson is up to next. Most of them have also become hooked on Greek and Roman mythology! This series is fast paced, and adventurous with sympathetic characters that kids like and can relate to!
