5 out of 5 stars Redefining an Artist, and possibly an Artform in the process.   January 9, 2009
Well, let me start by saying that I am a music fan, not a fan of any one genre in particular. This is good music, regardless of what all the "haters" say.

Kanye West has transcended his supposed genre with this release, and I cannot thank him more for it.

High Points: Tracks 1-7, 12
Low Points: The only thing I don't like about this album is Lil Wayne's verse on track 10, but I don't like anything he does, so that is to be expected.

5 out of 5 stars Diffrent, Unique, Great Kanye   January 9, 2009
I think this CD is one of Kanye's best, I would even go to say I like it better than his last Cd, "Graduation". I like the fact that he expermintes with diffrent sounds, but yet still has great lyrics. If you truly like music, not just types of music, I think you would like this CD

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   January 8, 2009
Wasn't sure i wanted to get the cd after hearing how stuck up Kanye can be but his music was great. I hope he can turn a new leaf.

2 out of 5 stars Konplay stress   January 7, 2009
I really tried to take my time with this album, listening through a few times before having any intentions of bashing the work and dedication he put into it. But I couldn't bring myself to sit back and enjoy a single track on this album! The voice synthesizer is way over used throughout the entire album, and the man's vocal range is less than impressive. Kaney said he didn't care about the album sales or what people thought about the album, but for me that was just another way of saying. haha I'm rich so I'm going to through whatever I want at you.

The man turned into one of the biggest cry babies in the genre, and saying that he was the voice of our generation seriously did it for me. Anyone in the game, or that listens to his music should be insulted, and if you aren't, then go ahead and get in line because you are nothing more than a follower. Also stating that if the Bible were written in these times, that he would be in it! I'm not even going to say nothing more on that subject, because it stirs up more controversy than should be needed in reviewing a album.

The beats on this album are sub-par, and the repetition gets some what annoying. I don't mean to cut Kanye and his album down so much, but after such statements, and having listening through this album 3 times! I can't find myself really enjoying any of the tracks, I'm so tired of hearing him cry about one thing after another. Yes his first 2 albums were fire, but he is giving up nothing new anymore. He's always only had a decent lryical arsenal, not one verse of his has ever had me whoo! His beats are good, but again, they are starting to be more and more of the same.

Now with this album he obvious thought he put out "art". But how could it be art when there really isn't any originality at all.. T-pain killed the voice tune, so what is it that was art... I refer to him as Konplay now anytime he is ever brought up in conversation... Because all he does now is Con people's money to futher enlarge his own pockets. You believe you are getting something worth the buck because of the name, but really, you're only listening to someone that could possibly be leaving his prime just as fast as he achieved it.

Listening to this album reminded me of watching a boxer past his prime, you're cheering him on hoping to get something great of him, but the substance that made them great has either subsided, or has been covered by greed, and all other things that can get to a man's head with wealth and fame.

4 out of 5 stars A CD for almost everyone.   January 7, 2009
It's very enjoyable and fun to listen to. Just about everybody loves it, if it's not all the songs, then it's at least one song that you know and love. If you listen to a song after a while, you will learn to love it. It's a great album with many great songs. I give it only 4 stars because you can get bored of it quickly. Don't let that get past you though....after a week of not listening it, you would want to listen to it again. One of the best albums of 08'!
